More Lost than 'Lost': What Cloverfield is Saying about America

Went to see Cloverfield at the weekend, along with thousands of other people who needed a JJ Abrams fix while awaiting the next series of Lost (spoiler alert: don't visit this Lost link unless you're up to date on the episodes!).

Much more than a monster movie, Cloverfield seems to be quite a scathing critique of young Americans, and all the more interesting for it.

On Tuesday I was part of the film review team for Richard and Judy. The venue was the Odeon in the Printworks, Manchester and the film to be watched and reviewed was Charlie Wilson’s War, recounting the covert US intervention in the Afghan war, starring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Bradford hosts 'Amazing Grace' premiere

Nathan and I were in Bradford on Friday night for the UK premiere of Amazing Grace, the new film about William Wilberforce's fight to abolish slavery.
